If you’ve installed the latest version of Microsoft OS i.e., Windows 8 you might have noticed that the when you press Alt+F4 key to get into the Power menu, the Hibernate option goes missing.
The same is the problem when you hover over the sidebar to show up the power options. Well, if you want the hibernate option on your Windows there is a very simple procedure to enable it.
You might again be thinking that why Windows haven’t made the option enabled by default. The reason being that the sleep mode in Windows 8 is equivalent enough to Hibernate. Although, it consumes some power from AC or DC source but pauses all your processes from running when the battery power is low.
The Walkthrough given below will help you to add Hibernate option in the Power Menu of Windows 8. Just follow the steps.
Step 1) Click on the power option available on the taskbar. Select the option “More Power option“.
Step 2) Power options windows will open. Here, select “Choose what the power buttons do“.
Step 3) From the next window, Select “Change the settings that are currently unavailable“.
Step 4) Now you will see many Power options at the bottom, just check the Hibernate option and then “Save Changes“. You’re done, you will now see Hibernate option whenever you press Alt+F4.
